We found out our daughter had a cleft palate in the delivery room. Nobody prepares you for that.

We spent about a month in the NICU learning how to feed her, and somewhere in there realized our experience looked nothing like what any app available to us was built for. The information we needed, the balance of moving from her NG tube to ad lib, being able to confidently hand her care team accurate numbers — that is what drove me to build this. Not because it was a good business opportunity, but because we needed it.

We needed to track her weight and her volumes, and to say clearly where she was at any point in time. To log cues, successes and failures, so the story we gave her team was accurate and they could make the most informed decisions possible. I wanted something that worked as well at 3am as it does in the doctor’s office.

It started with clefts, but it isn’t only for clefts. The diagnosis list now covers the range of conditions that make feeding hard, and the app handles scheduled feeds, ad lib, tube and bottle, and most combinations of those.

We’re still making changes, mostly as our own daughter grows, so feedback is welcome. She came off her NG tube about four weeks ago. PO ad lib has been a terrifying and lovely thing to watch.

We’re so thankful to the nurses, doctors and specialists who have taken such care of her.

What this is

Particular Palate records what you enter and does arithmetic on it. It is not medical advice and not a medical device. It does not diagnose, prescribe or set targets, and it has not been reviewed by any regulator. Percentiles come from the WHO Child Growth Standards and are a reference, not a verdict. Your feeding plan comes from your dietitian and cleft team, and every decision about volumes, fortifier or anything else belongs to them.

If your child is struggling to breathe, turning blue or grey, limp, or will not wake to feed — call emergency services. This app is the wrong place to be.

If you stop paying

Your account becomes read-only. Nothing is deleted. Every record stays visible, the growth charts still draw, and the healthcare export still works — only adding and editing stop.

What we store

Your email, your child's nickname, date of birth, sex, any feeding diagnoses, and the records you enter. Date of birth and sex only because a percentile cannot be computed without them. If you subscribe, Stripe holds your card — we never see it.

Who sees it

You, and anyone you invite. Not sold, not rented, not shared with advertisers, not used to train models, not aggregated into research. No analytics or tracking scripts anywhere on the site.

Cloudflare serves the site, Supabase holds the database, Stripe handles payment. Each under its own terms, none with any right to use your data for its own purposes.

Getting it out, or getting rid of it

Export everything as JSON from Settings at any time. Delete a child and its records go with it. Delete your account and everything goes, backups included, within 30 days.

Whose is what

Your records are yours. We claim nothing in them, and we do not use them to train models or build datasets.
